Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg took to social media last month to announce that WhatsApp will add another layer of privacy and security soon to be rolled out.

With the current option of encrypted cloud backups (Google Drive and iCloud) available for iOS and Android users, the new end-to-end encrypted chat backup feature will be available on WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.21.15.5 and WhatsApp Beta. for iOS 2.21.200.14.

But to use the feature, the user will need to create a password which would be required to restore and access the backup in the future. In addition, the new WhatsApp feature will also protect the chat backups of third parties.

Meanwhile, social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp suffered an outage for the second time this week.

Downdetector, a site that monitors crash reports on the Internet, said these app crashes have been reported for some global users.
