A couple from British Columbia are tired of being bothered by the noise of plastic and metal creaking outside their home in Richmond. They hope a little viral car-to-car video action will help convince the city to quickly replace the intersection’s four stop signs with traffic lights.

Individual videos can be viewed on Instagram, but the video compilation submitted to Global News contains more than enough evidence that this is a problematic intersection. The minute-long video documents five collisions, including a terrifying incident involving a pedestrian, as well as a clip of an SUV driving through one of the stop signs at what looks like freeway speeds.

The front door camera that filmed the accidents is owned by Barb Howells, who lives with her husband on the corner of Williams Road and Shell Road in Richmond, British Columbia. She thinks it’s high time the city put up a traffic light at the intersection.

“We have needed a light here for a very long time,” she told Global News.

“And there were a lot of people who called for the light. And in our post on the Richmond community (on) Facebook, people are saying it’s too late in our neighborhood.

According to the City of Richmond, a total of 10 non-fatal collisions have occurred between these four stop signs in the past 21 months. He also claims that a set of lights are expected to be installed in March 2022.
