Announcing that applications are now open on the Late show website, the presenter told listeners, “We’re going to go big This year. I had a great conversation about it last week, and it’s going to be really, really special.”

Offering advice to young contestants, DJ Calum said, “Just be yourself. Take your time. Have fun. And practice and make sure your video is okay! Even half an hour, fifteen minutes a day, that’s all it takes.”

After supporting DJ Jenny Greene at her Iveagh Gardens show over the summer, Calum added that he was very busy with “the first communions, the confirmations, even the 21s, the weddings”.
