Senator Mike Lee Sends French Fries Sauce to Apple CEO Tim Cook in California

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Senator Mike Lee sent a precious piece of Utah to Silicon Valley in California.

Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke at Silicon Slopes Summit 2021 last October with Senator Lee and the two shared an in-depth conversation about technology and digital privacy.

After their conversation, Senator Lee decided to send Cook a thank you gift, featuring the condiment the Utahns love the most – French fries sauce. In a video message posted to YouTube, Senator Lee is seen carefully wrapping three bottles of locally branded French fry sauces in a gift box and making a handwritten note.

In the note that Sen. Lee handwrites on an iPad he says:

“Dear Tim,
I’m writing this quick note using the only device I can’t live without. Thank you for joining me for this year’s Silicon Slopes Summit. I especially appreciate your kind words about the innovators in Utah. Wanting to change the world for the better is something the Utahns are extremely proud of. I believe we are doing just that. I also know you served a batch of fresh crisps. As we discussed on stage, in Utah we have something that goes well with crisps, fries or whatever you dip. So, please accept this variety of Utah fry sauces as a thank you for your visit to our great state.

Your friend,

PS MacOS Zion sounds great.
