Rosario Dawson has quickly become one of the best parts of Disney’s current Star Wars canon. Dawson first appeared as fan-favorite former Jedi Ahsoka Tano in season 2 of The Mandalorian, granting a longtime fan-casting wish for Ahsoka’s live-action version. Dawson continued to show her love for the Star Wars franchise this week by posting an Instagram video of herself having a chat with R2-D2. Check the message below:

In the video, Dawson jokes that fans made him choose between R2 and Chopper, the headstrong droid from the animated series. Star Wars: Rebels. Dawson clarifies that she “obviously” chooses R2-D2. While this might be a personal preference for Rosario Dawson, it also makes sense for her character, as Ahsoka has had many adventures with the droid in the animation. Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. As Ahsoka encounters the Star Wars: Rebels crew and help them, she hasn’t spent that much time with Chopper.

Star Wars fans are notoriously fickle, with many hating one era of Star Wars content or another. For a long time, the prequels were reviled by the fan base until they saw an unexpected resurgence in popularity later on. However, one thing many fans agree on is that Ahsoka Tano was one of the best characters to come out of the post-original trilogy era. Voiced by Ashley Eckstein in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, she was Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan. Although the Star Wars: The Clone Wars The series jumped between characters like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Darth Maul and various different clone troopers and squads, Ahsoka was arguably the main protagonist of this series. Her character arc was one of the biggest question marks because, unlike many other main characters, we didn’t know what became of her after the Clone Wars era. Ahsoka was so popular they brought back Star Wars: The Clone Wars for a final season, gave him a major story arc in Star Wars: Rebelsand introduced him to the Star Wars canon live in The Mandalorianwhere Rosario Dawson first performed it.

Of course, they didn’t cast Rosario Dawson as just a fun cameo. We now get a full series on Ahsoka which will follow her quest to find the young Jedi Ezra Bridger and the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn after they go missing at the end of Star Wars: Rebels. Ahsoka will have her own three-episode story in the upcoming anime anthology Tales of the Jedi, where Ashley Eckstein will return to voice the character. The Ahsoka The series is set to release in 2023. Along with Dawson, the series will also star Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Star Wars: Rebels character Sabine Wren and Hayden Christensen as Ahsoka’s former master, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Ray Stevenson will appear in a currently unnamed villain role. Ivanna Sakhno and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are also joining the cast, although their roles have yet to be revealed. Hera Syndulla and Chopper from Star Wars: Rebels They’re also said to have guest appearances, so maybe Dawson will get closer to Chopper after all.
