ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday denied reports of torture against PTI leader Shahbaz Gill and called the party’s allegation of sexual abuse of PTI leader “propaganda” Imran Khan’s cabinet.

“The propaganda has been raging for three days without any investigation,” she said in a media interview.

The Minister of Information further added that the videos posted on social media in the name of Shahbaz Gill are “fake”.

“No torture was inflicted,” she claimed, insisting that no one should be tortured.

Assuring everyone involved with Gill’s treatment in custody, Aurangzeb said an investigation was underway into the matter and the Home Office would provide all evidence.

Commenting on the video of Gill crying in pain that has been circulating on social media, the minister gestured to the PTI leader to engage in propaganda as soon as he sees a camera in sight.

During the press conference, Marriyum Aurangzeb released the video of Gill from his hospital room for the media.

The video was shot an hour before the minister was to give the press conference where he can be seen standing. He is also seen reading books and walking around the eth room while chatting with a policeman

“Where’s Gill’s oxygen mask now?” she asked, mocking those who claimed to have tortured Gill.

Talking about the reason for Gill’s imprisonment, the Minister said that Imran Khan produced the script and asked Gill to give the beep.

“Gill beeped on Khan’s orders. Every word Gill says is recorded,” she noted, adding that the lawsuit against Gill is legal and investigations are ongoing into it.

The Minister of Information claimed that a crime has been committed and that the facts cannot be changed by talking about the seditious remarks made by Gill before his arrest.

“The evidence is being finalized following court orders,” she told the media.

The minister also spoke about another video making the rounds on social media, which was allegedly linked to the sexual abuse allegations against Gill.

“The video on social media is of a sexual aggressor from Chakwal,” she said and warned that spreading a fake video falls under the offense of cybercrime.

“A storm of social media misbehavior is underway,” she said, criticizing the PTI for misrepresenting reality and viewing it as party-modified “history”.

“Has anyone seen the actual torture videos?” she questioned and added that the links of this story go back to Imran Khan.

“Imran Khan wants to divert attention from the real reality,” she said, adding that the PTI leader had instigated “corruption and chaos” in society.
