Buccaneers’ Tom Brady greeted with cheers, New England Patriots homage video

Tom Brady was welcomed to New England with a tribute video of his best moments on the Gillette Stadium scoreboard. The video led to a roar of cheers from Patriots fans at Foxborough before he rushed onto the field with his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates for Sunday night’s prime-time game.

Watch the video the Patriots created below. Moments after it aired, fans chanted “Brady!” Brady! Brady! As the rain fell.

Brady ran the full length of the field when he came out for pre-game warm-ups – a tradition he normally does with the Patriots. This time, however, Brady’s jog was across the field in front of the visitors’ locker room.

Brady was also captured hugging Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as he started to warm up. The cameras caught him too hugging Patriots owner Robert Kraft in the tunnel and chat with the future Hall of Fame quarterback before the game.

Once Brady officially took the field under center for the Buccaneers, the cheers turned to boos.

On the special night of his return, the 44-year-old also rose higher in the NFL record books. With 6:10 left in the first quarter, Brady completed a 28-yard pass to wide receiver Mike Evans, becoming the NFL all-time leader with 80,358 assists. Brady passed Drew Brees, who was in attendance for the game as a member of the NBC broadcast crew.
