Actor and author David Walliams will delve into his family history on BBC One tonight (17 January) as he appears in Who Do You Think You Are? know the life of his ancestors.

The TV personality has graced our television screens for the past three decades, including on Little Britain, Britain’s Got Talent and Come Fly With Me – the latter of which was later pulled from streaming services last year due to his “stereotyping” of certain minority groups.

The 50-year-old has also written 14 children’s books, including the most famous Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy – but what about his love life? And does he have children?

David Walliams was married to Dutch model Lara Stone between 2010 and 2015

David Walliams started dating Dutch model Lara Stone in 2009 and got engaged shortly after.

They married at Claridge’s hotel in central London in May 2010 and Lara gave birth to their first and only child Alfred three years later.

In September 2015, after five years of marriage, Walliams filed for divorce from Stone, citing “unreasonable behavior”.

The couple have joint custody of son Alfred, who is now eight – but the couple are blurring their son’s face in any images of him shared on social media in a bid to protect his privacy.

He has since opened up more about fatherhood in very candid interviews, reports The Mirror.

While chatting with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the morning news and the celebrity chat show, David confessed that he was partly thanked for his success in the world of children’s fiction.

He said: “Yes, Alfred, he has lots of brilliant ideas.

“We often talk about things we’d like to read stories about and he said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if there was a monster made up of all the different scary monsters in the world and it was called the Mega? Monster, Dad? That should be the title of your next book!

“And I said, ‘Okay, yeah, that’s a great title’.”

The Little Britain star then revealed more about her sweet bond with her son, saying: “When we go for walks and do stuff with the dog, we often think about where the story might be and he said, “Dad, you make it the hardest part to write it!”

Prior to his relationship with Stone, comedian Walliams was romantically linked to pop star Geri Haliwell aka Ginger Spice – who had been secretly dating for weeks before the news broke.
