EastEnders has been on our screens since 1985 and is an integral part of the TV screens of many Londoners.
There are still a lot of hidden facts and nuggets of information about the actors to be discovered.
One of the many surprises regarding the cast of EastEnders was actor Jamie Borthwick, who has played Jay Brown since 2006.
The fan favorite recently found out he’s linked to one of his fellow Albert Square residents.

The 27-year-old actor was born in Barking in 1994 and has been among the show’s most outrageous storylines.
Parts of his private life also feel like something out of a soap opera when he found out he was related to Charlie Winter, his co-star who played Hunter Owen.
They realized that Jamie and Hunter’s uncles shared the same name and they turned out to be the same person.
Jamie said Ok! Online: “My great-uncle’s name is Charlie Winter, so when they said there was a kid called Charlie Winter, I was like, ‘Seriously?'”
“It turns out that we are first cousins,” he added.
Another behind-the-scenes fact you probably didn’t know is that Jamie has had a crush on one of his co-stars since he was 14.
When he first saw Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell, another actor told him to talk to him.
Jamie told Digital Spy: “Perry [Fenwick, who plays Billy] told me to talk to her, and I remember walking up to her and saying, “Alright honey … wow, you smell good.”
“It brought down the house and we still laugh about it.”
